Q:  Who needs to do Lifelong Learning Hours?

A: All licensed or ordained Nazarene ministers, assigned or unassigned, who have graduated from the Course of Study for Ministers.

Q: How many Lifelong Learning Hours need to be completed?

A: Each minister must complete 20 continuing education hours each church year (for NEI, the church year runs from March 1- February 28).

Q: What happens if I don’t complete the required amount of LLH?

A: According to the Manual, after failing to complete the requirement for two consecutive years, a minister must appear before the District Ministerial Studies Board to explain their shortfall and work toward completing the requirement for future years.  Last year was the first year that “counts.”  If you fell short then, you don’t have to appear before the board if you complete the requirement this year.  Continuing Education completion also will play a roll in regular pastoral reviews and as District Superintendents consider pastoral candidates for churches.

Q: Where can I learn more about the LLH requirement?

A: The wording in the new Manual can be found in paragraph 527.6, (pages 204-205).

Q: What activities can I do to complete the required LLH?

A: We update our website with upcoming events on our district and educational region that are eligible for CE credit.  Attending or viewing videos of such seminars counts toward your CE total.  We have many links to free videos on our website that have been approved for CE credit.  This is not an exhaustive list, but a way to bring free and low-cost CE activities to our pastors.
